Harry Potter Nails | NailsByErin

Hello everyone!

Today is July 31st, which means it is Harry Potter’s (and J.K. Rowling’s) birthday! I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and the movies, so I wanted to do a design to celebrate. I decided on this super easy Harry/Gryffindor themed mani.

Keep reading to find out how I created this nail art, and be sure to comment your Hogwarts House down below! I’m a Ravenclaw 😊

I started by painting my pinky with a black nail polish, and painted the Deathly Hallows symbol with white acrylic paint. I have trouble getting really fine lines, so I touched them up by scraping at the edges with a toothpick (you can see how I do that in my YouTube tutorial down below) and using black acrylic paint to make the lines thiner.

Then, I painted my index finder and ring finger with the gold and red Gryffindor colors! Luckily, these striped nails were a lot easier than the freehand nails, since I used straight vinyls from Snail Vinyls. They made it so much easier to get even, diagonal lines!

On my middle nail, I used a light nude shade as a base, then used black acrylic paint to add Harry’s messy black hair and iconic glasses. And of course, I used a red nail polish to add his lightning bolt scar.

I topped all my nails with Seche Vite top coat.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with how this turned out! I know some parts are a little messy but I haven’t always been the greatest at freehand nail art.

I hope you guys love this design! 🙂
