Hi everyone!
Today I have another swatch and review blog post, this time for the LVX Spring/Summer 2019 Collection. This collection is 6 creme polishes that are all 10-Toxin Free, Cruelty-Free & Vegan. There are a bunch of colors in this collection with a bunch of different colors and undertones, so I have a feeling everyone will be able to find at least one favorite in this collection.
Let’s get into the swatches! 🙂
First up is “Lace”, an off-white creme with yellow undertones. Here I’m wearing 3 coats with top coat. You guys probably know that I tend to avoid yellow undertones but I actually like this one on me a lot!
This polish reminds me of Essie “Pre-Show Jitters” but with a yellow base instead of pink. This one would definitely pop with a tan (not that I would know, lol). But I’ve been liking “almost-white” polishes like this lately and I can definitely see myself wearing “Lace” this summer.
Next up is “Melrose”. Here I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat. On their website and in my outdoor pictures, this tended to look like a periwinkle blue, but in my swatch photos the purple undertones really stood out. Either way, I love this polish! I always am a fan of blues and purples so this one is the best of both worlds for me.
This formula was super smooth and easy to apply, and 2 coats was all I needed. I also think because LVX has such an easy to use wide brush and a smooth formula, it makes application even easier and neater. Definitely recommend this polish!
Here we have “Sandstone”, a camel brown creme. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat. This is another one that was super smooth and easy to apply. The color just ends up looking so seamless and shiny on the nails!
This is not typically a color I reach for but it is definitely a great option for those of you who love nude nails. I think it’s definitely unexpected for spring and summer but I kind of like that about it. It’s just a classic nude!
Then we have “Peche”, 3 coats with top coat. This is described on LVX’s site as a light apricot and I think I would agree with that. Peche was a little bit patchier and lighter than the others in this collection because it is one of the 2 lighter ones. I think 3 coats was able to get me full opacity.
Unfortunately I think this one was my least favorite in the collection… But only because this color is not one that I like on me. I think you can tell in these pictures that it really clashes with my skin tone. But I’m sure if your coloring is different from mine, this shade would look great on you!
This next one is “Baie”, a light magenta pink creme. Shown is 2 coats with top coat. Another smooth formula! LVX just nails cremes every time. This color feels bright, fun, and perfect for summer.
Again, pinks aren’t really my thing but I know so many people will love this color. This one applied super easy. Just be careful of doing too many brush strokes when applying this color as I did see some bald spots occurring if I touched the brush to my nail too much. I’d say you might have to do 3 coats if you’re not careful.
And last but certainly not least, we have “Pixie”. Here I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat. The first time I wore this was before I photographed this swatch and I had to do 3 coats, but as this polish has gotten thicker I’m able to get away with 2.
I loooove this color!! So gorgeous and flawless. I think this lavender would look good on anyone, the tone is just so flattering. I’m definitely going to be reaching for this polish from now on!
And that’s the whole collection! I would have to say my favorites are definitely Pixie and Melrose.
I have used LVX polishes for years now and I really think they are quality products that last on the nails and always look super shiny! They also have such a wide range of colors, and I am a big fan of the fact that they are cruelty free and are free of the usual nail polish toxins.
All of these polishes are $18 and are available on shopLVX.com. Hope you all found this review helpful!
