China Glaze Trolls World Tour Collection | Swatches and Review

Hi everyone!

Today’s blog post is a swatch and review of the new China Glaze Trolls World Tour Collection for the upcoming movie!

The movie will be in theaters April 10, and also available on digital that day as well due to everything going on in the world at the moment. So if you can’t get to a movie theater, you can still check out the new movie at home!

Let’s get into the swatches!

First is Funky Beat, a neon purple creme. Here I’m wearing 3 coats with top coat. This is a perfect neon purple! It was a little more sheer than I wanted… It has kind of more a crelly formulation (a mix between creme and jelly) so I needed 3 coats for this opacity. Still, it’s a really fun shade and you’ll probably love it if you’re into purple or neons in general.

Next we have Pink-in-Poppy, a pink microglitter polish in a hot pink crelly base. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat, but I think wearing 3 coats might make a slightly more opaque glitter look. My nail line was gone at 2 coats so I stopped here, although I think a third coat would have looked great too.

As you guys might remember, I’m not typically into hot pinks like this, but I really like the glitter aspect of this polish and it was easy to apply. I love everything except the fact that it’s hot pink! 😛

Then there’s No Holds Barb, a striking blood orange jelly. This one has slightly more opacity than a typical jelly, in my opinion, so I was able to make it opaque in 3 coats (shown here with top coat).

I don’t have many shades like this! Again, oranges aren’t a color I reach for very much but this seems like such a perfect summer polish.

Delta Darlin’ is a buttery yellow-orange creme. I’m wearing 3 coats with top coat. I don’t really have any polishes like this one, either! It’s another shade that I think will be really fun for summer but I don’t think it’s necessarily flattering on my skin tone.

Then we have It’s All Techno, a bright chartreuse creme. I’m wearing 3 coats with top coat. This color is so bright!! It’s perfectly in between green and yellow. I think on olive and darker skin tones, this polish will be so striking and perfect for summer.

Next is Can’t Stop Branchin’. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat. This one doesn’t dry very shiny on its own, so you’ll definitely need top coat. But I love this color! In the bottle it immediately reminded me of one of the all-time fave China Glaze shades, “For Audrey”. I think it’s a slightly different color but this polish is definitely up my alley since it’s a nice aqua blue-green. I was able to get away with 2 coats but if you’re not careful, it could become 3… I did notice some bald spots forming when I did too many brush strokes. Otherwise, I think this one is my favorite from the collection!

Then there’s Chill In Symphonyville, a sheer light blue with a blue/purple shifting shimmer. The swatches below show 4 coats with top coat. It’s really sheer and even after this many coats, you can still see my nail line. I think this would look good layered over a light blue creme as a base. Also, this one dried pretty matte too, so I definitely recommend adding a top coat.

Last but not least is Glitter-iffic. This is 3 coats brushed on (not sponged!) with top coat. This is a silver holographic glitter polish. I would describe this as a China Glaze “Fairy Dust” 2.0… The glitters not nearly as fine as Fairy Dust, but it has a similar holo sparkle to it. It’s got silver holographic microglitter and some larger hex glitter that really catch the holo shine. This could make a cool topper but I think it would be even better for glitter gradients or solid glitter accent nails!

You could definitely get full opacity much quicker by sponging this one on, but I wanted to use the brush for my swatch so you guys would have an idea of how concentrated the glitter was.

And that’s all the shades! These feel really perfect for the summer time and definitely channel the colorful and creative Trolls vibe. And as much as I love the fact that China Glaze has been making a bunch of unique glittery shades for their most recent collections, I was really happy to see them include some classic cremes in this one. 🙂

This collection is available at a bunch of retailers, including…

  • Ulta
  • Sally Beauty
  • JCPenney
  • Walmart
  • RiteAid
  • CVS
  • Walgreens

I hope you all found this review helpful!
