Hi everyone!
Today’s blog post is a swatch and review of the new China Glaze Gone West Collection for Fall 2019. This is a collection of 8 rustic and autumnal shades with super fun names all related to their whole cowboy/Western theme!
These China Glaze polishes feature a 7-free formula, as well as their new wide brush that makes application super smooth and easy.
So without further ado, let’s get into the swatches! Prepare for some photo spam…
“Prairie Tale Ending” This was a super smooth sandy nude creme, and was perfectly opaque in 2 coats. Seriously, it applied like butter…. I have always loved China Glaze, but their new wide brush that comes in their bottles makes all the difference with application!!
I’m not 100% sure this shade of nude is very flattering on me, but I have a feeling it will be a great choice for a lot of skintones, and since it is a sandy nude, it feels like a really nice transition shade between summer and fall.
Next up is “Lawless and Flawless”, a sheer-ish blush pink with a fiery orange-pink shimmer. Here I’m wearing 3 coats with top coat.
My favorite part of this polish is how much that amazing shimmer builds up after a few coats! It looks a little more subtle in the bottle but on the nail it ends up being so shimmery and gorgeous. I don’t even think these photos do it justice!
Next up is “Take the High Rodeo”. I’m not quite sure how to describe this shade… It’s so unique to my collection! I think it might be a rusty sunset pink with a gorgeous golden orange shimmer. I’m wearing 2 smooth coats with top coat.
I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this shade but I actually really like it on me! It feels perfectly autumnal while still really unique to most shades this season. Like I said, I really don’t think I have any others like this one!
Now we have “Gold Mine Your Business”, a super shimmery, beautiful gold! It looked ok after 2 coats, but I like it a lot better with 3, which is what I’m wearing here. It applied really easily and smoothly, and it has super tiny holographic microglitters in there just to make it even more sparkly. It feels perfect for fall while also still being glam and unique. I love this one!
Here is “Campfired Up”. And… woah. I am super impressed with this one. It’s almost a one-coater! I did a second coat just to cover any light spots but this formula is seriously flawless. So easy to apply and the color payoff is fantastic.
It looks so gorgeous on the nails! It’s really shiny and smooth even without top coat, but I applied a layer of glossy top coat just for consistency. This has to be one of my favorites from the collection! I’m not big on reds but I can actually see myself wearing this one.
Then we have “Buffalo Bills, Bills, Bills”, a bronze-y brown with a greenish-gold shimmer. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat.
This color isn’t really my style but this is another one that is so unique. I don’t have any others like this. And the shimmer is so intense on it!! Definitely a cool polish for fall.
Now here is “Cattle Drive Me Crazy”…. and we have a one-coater!! Perfectly opaque and smooth in one coat. Plus, even with the metallic chrome effect of this polish, it evened itself out really well and left no weird streak marks. Application was so smooth!!
This is definitely one of my favorites too: I love this polish! The color is gorgeous and the fact that the formula is so easy makes it even better. I highly recommend!
And last but not least is “Cowboy, Bye”, which is described as a radiant dark raspberry with silver flecks. I would say that this is a purple-y brown with silver holographic glitter scattered throughout. Here I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat.
It’s another unique and beautiful polish! Definitely outside the box from the typical fall polishes and I think this will look good on everyone. I can’t wait to wear this one more!
And that’s the whole collection! China Glaze has made another gorgeous and one-of-a-kind collection. I love these shades and I can’t wait to wear them this fall! Be sure to check them out: they’re available on Amazon, Sally Beauty, and Ulta.
I hope you enjoyed the swatches! 🙂
