China Glaze To Catch a Colour Collection (Fall 2019) | Swatches and Review

Hi everyone!

Today I have another swatch and review for you, this time for the new China Glaze To Catch a Colour Collection for Fall/Halloween 2019! This collection has 6 nail polishes.

As always, China Glaze is nailing it (cringe-worthy pun intended) with super unique, almost indie-like nail polishes lately. These are like nothing else in my collection and I have a few favorites I’m excited to wear this month!

Without further ado, let’s get into the swatches.

“Pathological Liar Liar” is an orange-y copper metallic-shimmer polish with super tiny holographic glitters. I did 3 coats of this polish because it was just a tiny bit sheer on the tips with just 2. I’m also wearing top coat in these swatches!

This has a bit of a metallic-chrome effect so I would make sure you’re careful when applying… If you do too many brush strokes, it will probably show on this polish. But it is such a fun autumnal shade! Could be a good base for some fun pumpkin nail art 🙂

“Get Off My Cold Case” is a glitter topper in a clear-ish base (I think it has a slight orange tint, but that could just be because of the glitter). It is filled with tiny black glitters in 2 different circular sizes, along with orange metallic microglitter. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat over my natural nail.

I think this would look perfect for Halloween layered over black. I wore it on it’s own here just to show the polish as is, but this topper would be a super easy way for festive nails this month!

Now we have “You’ve Got Blackmail”, a purple-y charcoal polish with glitter flakes. I didn’t expect to love this one so much!! The color is so interesting and changes under different lights.

I did 2 very thin coats but it’s honestly close to a one-coater. I think one thin coat would do the trick! It does dry to a bit of a textured finish so you definitely need a coat or 2 of top coat on this one. Overall, one of my faves for sure!

“Arrest in Peace” is a sheer black jelly polish with different sized circular black glitter, red metallic glitters, and larger black hexagonal glitters. Here I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat.

This one isn’t really my style, but again it would make a great topper for an easy Halloween manicure this month.

Next up is “Green with Jealousy”, an almost teal metallic polish with gold flakes throughout. Here I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat. This one is definitely one of my favorites from the collection, too!! This is such a gorgeous color and it applied super smooth. Plus, you guys know by now that I love blues and greens 🙂

The only downside is I think it stains. Even having it on for just a few minutes, my nails were tinted slightly blue-green. I think if I was wearing this for a few days, it would leave my nails looking a little green.

Then we have “Private Side-Eye”, a deep purple with scattered holographic glitter. I’m wearing 2 coats with top coat. Another beautiful shade that is so my style this time of year!

In some lights, it’s so dark that it looks almost black, but the purple color and holographic really shine in brighter and natural lights.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you guys enjoy these swatch and review posts as much as I love doing them. ❤
